Hello DC: District Administration Services at Citizens’ Doorstep

What if getting help from your DC Office was just a tap away?

That is the idea behind Hello DC—a mobile platform introduced during Farida Khanam’s tenure as District Commissioner of Dhaka, designed to make Dhaka District Administration’s services more accessible, convenient and citizen-friendly.

With Hello DC, citizens can connect with the district administration from wherever they are, submit applications and complaints, share suggestions, and stay updated on the progress of their requests—all through one platform. The initiative was built around a simple vision: reducing unnecessary visits, saving citizens’ time and expenses, and making communication with the administration easier through technology.

One App Multiple Features.

Hello DC brings a range of essential public services together in one digital space. Users can access information and services related to land, law and order, relief, social security, licensing and public complaints, while also having the ability to follow up on submitted applications.

The platform also includes options for appointments with the Deputy Commissioner, along with services related to NGOs, licensing, mutation (namjari), vested properties and various forms of public assistance.

The Hello DC app was officially launched on 21 July 2026 at the conference room of the Dhaka District Commissioner’s Office, marking a step toward making district-level public services more technology-driven, transparent and accountable.

Easy Access, Better Service

The real promise of Hello DC is convenience.

Instead of depending entirely on physical visits and traditional communication channels, citizens get a digital way to reach the administration, submit their concerns and keep track of their requests. This can help reduce unnecessary travel, save time and make communication with public offices more straightforward.

The app is also designed with accessibility in mind. It can initially be accessed through hellodc.bd and the official Facebook page of the Dhaka District Administration, with availability on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store planned following the necessary review process.

For those who need direct assistance, a dedicated phone service is also available at 01961-606060, from 9am to 4pm.

More Than an App

Hello DC is ultimately about changing how citizens experience public services.

As more services are added, the platform has the potential to become a single digital gateway connecting citizens with a wider range of district-level government services. The Dhaka District Administration has already outlined plans to gradually expand the platform and develop it into an integrated digital service platform.

For citizens, the concept is simple: fewer unnecessary visits, easier communication and government services within reach.

Hello DC is therefore more than a technological initiative—it reflects Farida Khanam’s citizen-oriented administrative vision of bringing government services closer to the people through technology.

Hello DC is putting the district administration closer to where citizens already are—their phones.
